Natrona County Health and Food Inspection (8/15/22–8/19/22)

Casper, Wyo. – The Casper-Natrona County Health Department oversees restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, mobile food units, commissaries, and food vending operations. Each facility has an unannounced inspection at least twice a year.

According to the department, there are three types of violations namely priority, priority basis and core.

While the health department is looking for vulnerabilities, the organization’s main goal is to educate businesses, helping them understand unsafe practices and ways to improve them.

According to Ruth Held, Natrona County’s environmental health program manager, “There is no sliding scale or pass or fail health inspection.” She says each violation is fixed either immediately or within 10 days, meaning the violation doesn’t make the business unsafe.

If a re-inspection is required, the problem may be more serious or the facility may need more time to fix it. They have 10 days to resolve the issue, and according to Heald most facilities can easily meet the requirement.

Any serious violations or notable citations will be included in the summary notes below, but the full report for each restaurant can be found on the department’s website, where they publish all their current information.
