Sompo Int’l promotes Cañellas to Iberia Country Manager, Insurance
Sompo InternationalA leading provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty re/insurance, announced the appointment of. Jamie Canelas As country manager of its insurance operations in Spain and Portugal.

With over 30 years of industry experience, Canelas joined Sompo International in 2018 and most recently held the role of Head of Distribution for Europe. He is in Barcelona and reports Ralph BrandtContinental Europe Insurance President.

Oneglobal reorganizes senior leadership team
OneGlobal BrokingThe London-based broker announced that it has reshuffled its senior leadership team to bolster global expansion.
Roger Spicer has been promoted to CEO, Global Specialties; Sirikit Oh has been promoted to CEO, OGB Asia, and Phil Gingell Promoted to President and CEO of US Aviation. Report to all Mike ReynoldsGroup CEO.
Also, Luca Garbarino was promoted to Executive Director and Group Vice President, and David Lum Chairman, OGB Asia. These two roles will report to Jonathan Palmer-BrownGroup President.
Garbarino He will join OneGlobal’s main board, which the broker said is “a testament to his continued service to the group over the past 20 years.”
A global executive committee chaired by Reynolds will be established to ensure the group continues to deliver on its objectives. There are members of the committee Hugh Crossland (Group CFO), Nicholas Run (CEO, Latin America), Sirikit Oh (CEO, OGB Asia), Jeanette the moment (Group Head of HR), and Roger Spicer (CEO, Global Specialties).
A Global Specialty Committee will also be established, chaired by Roger SpicerCoordinate with senior specialty and geographic leaders representing and ensuring delivery of Oneglobal’s strengths to global clients.

Vantage Group has named Watkins additional head of casualty for Bermuda Healthcare
Based in Bermuda Vantage Group Holdings Limited The appointment has been announced Dennis Watkins Additional accident and as head of Bermuda Healthcare, pending Bermuda immigration approval.

Watkins will be based in and report to Bermuda Alex WhiteVantage Insurance Chief Executive Officer.
In her expanded role, Watkins will lead Vantage’s businesses in U.S. Access Casual and Bermuda Extra Casual and Healthcare. She will oversee the continued success of the team by enhancing the team’s business and distribution strategies.
Watkins will be responsible for the continued expansion of the business units and their profitable portfolio management, leveraging Vantage’s data and analytics strategy and commitment to value-added solutions.
Watkins brings 25 years of industry experience to Vantage. Before joining the company in 2021, she held various senior positions at Sompo International between December 2011 and June 2021, according to her LinkedIn profile. Earlier, she held leadership roles at AIG and Travelers.
“Dennis is taking on this important new role to generate additional value for our brokers and clients as they navigate an increasingly complex risk environment. His promotion marks the next step in our continued growth in Vantage’s insurance business,” commented Blanco.
